This was an emotionally challenging week for us. We are preparing for a test that will be worth 35% of our grade and we have only had 11 hours of lecture and three weeks to learn it all...and the craziest part is that it is all information on critical care patients meaning that it is pretty complex stuff that we are trying to get our heads around. On top of that, we have all been attempting to adjust to two day clinical weeks. It has been a challenge to wake up at 4:30 two days a week but I guess it is something that I will have to work on because when I am done, I will be doing it 3 times a week and the shifts will be longer. Clinical has been a great learning experience so far but there have already been hurdles that we have had to jump over...nothing new to the nursing school routine though and we have learned to embrace the saying "what doesn't kill us...(or fail us) will only make us stronger. At least that is what we try to tell ourselves so that we are able to make it through these last final weeks of nursing school!
As far as summer goes, I am very busy with school but have found some free time to go golfing a few times. That is always a great break and a great time spending quality time with the boy and the family!
YESSS!!! You will get through this and make an incredible nurse! :) Countdown ON!
